With half of this front yard in full sun, and the other half in part shade, we had a large spectrum of plants that we could use in this landscape. Seeking inspiration from nature, we decided to recreate the plant pallets of two different Georgia ecosystems: the woodland edge and the Piedmont prairie. To do this we used a combination of native ornamental grasses, flowers, trees and shrubs to create a landscape that is as beautiful as it is ecologically biodiverse. Add in a naturalistic dry creek bed waterfall and you have yourself a micro nature preserve outside the front door.
